Our 18 week courses will take you from scratch to a level where you can get by in daily life Greek (answering a phone call, writing an email, doing shopping, socializing, talking about job & hobbies)
Interactive Lessons
Our small groups will give you plenty of time to speak in class. New vocabulary and grammar are presented in the simplest way possible with full explanations in English; then it is over to you to use the new information by having short conversations with your teacher and fellow students
Create in the language you learn!
Instead of doing long grammar exercises, you will be asked to "create" a short passage incorporating some simple grammar / syntax rules and the new vocabulary. This can be classroom work or a short homework assignment on a topic that could come in handy at your work field or daily activities
What does the Beginners Level include?
The first two sessions deal with the Greek Alphabet and some basic spelling rules. At the end of the first week you will have learnt how to write your name and personal information in Greek, as well as some greetings and every day phrases.
What comes next is a simple classification of verbs, so that you can conjugate a verb and make short sentences.
For each new grammar item or set of vocabulary, you will be given time to "produce" your own sentences and talk with your teacher and classmates.
With a step-by-step approach, this 18 week course will teach you the different cases (forms) of Nouns and Adjectives, Verbs in the Present, Future and Past Tense, Peronal and Possessive Pronouns as well as a wide range of vocabulary relating to daily life.
Talking about yourself and your family, expressing likes and dislikes, answering a phone call and writing an email, doing shopping, asking about services at stores and handling bureaucracy issues (such as doing a bank transaction) are some of the topics covered on this level.
